What I Loved About Working At A Gas Station Job

Working at a gas station is not something many people dream about.  It’s loud and dirty, and if the station has service bays and a car wash, you’ll be dealing with some strange chemicals and smells, too.  Still, I loved my gas station job as it was in my home town and there were a shortage of jobs in tamworth area.  When I first went to work there, I didn’t know how to check engine oil or tire pressure, but I quickly learned.  I was also used to working indoors, but because I was eager and willing to learn, I was quickly taught how to do full serve, as well as a bit of landscaping, painting, and cleaning.  There was always something to do when I went to work, so of course the time passed quickly.  And the longer I worked there, the more I was trusted, so eventually I was taught how to do some of the bookkeeping.  That gas station job turned out to be a great learning experience, and I still remember it fondly.
