Fake plants are the perfect choice for the novice goldfish owner. They are easy to install, affordable, and attractive. Fake plants are also durable, many lasting for indefinitely. Most fake plants come with a base that should be buried in the gravel so that it cannot be seen. Fake plants are made of either plastic or silk. The silk plants will have some plastic making up the stems and base. In particular, silk fake plants are very realistic. When choosing your fake plants, choose a variety of heights to give depth to your tank’s landscape, or “aquascape.” Tall, densely leaved plants at the rear of the tank can hide filters and cords.
