Which Is Better, Cat 5 Or Cat 6 Cable?

When you are deciding between Cat 5 or Cat 6 cable, you have to keep certain things in mind. Both these are twisted pair cables, with eight wires in each, but the Cat 6 cables have ten times the transmission speed as compared to the Cat 5 cables. So, if you are thinking of future planning for your networks, then the Cat 6 cables are the better option. But, the Cat 6 cables are also more expensive. If you are buying structured wiring for your home, then it is advisable to go ahead with Cat 5 cables. Or, you can settle for the Cat 5e cables, which have twice the speed of the Cat 5 cables, but are five times slower than the Cat 6 cables.
